Judging by the amount of hits to this blog, many Leopard users made do with the fix I suggested (see this link for details). However, even I stated that it was only to tide us die-hard Hotmail-Leopard users over until Daniel Parnell was able to update his code to be Leopard compatible.

Being able to check my mail has always been a simple task with Apple Mail. All of my accounts: Gmail, Hotmail, work, and school have always worked without a hitch. However, as Leopard users around the world are aware, Hotmail no longer works with the infamous HTTPMail plugin for Mail.

I do a lot of C++ coding. Over the past few years I've seen Eclipse mature into a full blown C++ IDE and I use it religiously. Partly because it's portable: any operating system I am on has a version of Eclipse available to it. Not that I don't like XCode. I just don't do enough OS X specific application development to make it my full time IDE.

My Macbook Pro is essential to my daily routine. I take it with me to school and work on it all day; I bring it back home in the evening and work on my website stuff. At both places I have custom workstations (ie. a 2nd monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse). At home I use an Apple keyboard; at school I use a Saitek gaming keyboard (trust me, it's great for marathon coding sessions). Although I am a fan of coverflow, it is distracting: it takes up too much of my finder window and is only useful when documents are "previewable"(ie. PDF files, pictures, etc). Today I mistakingly discovered something very useful -- instant file preview (I'm making the name up, as I don't know what it is really called). What I really like, is that you are still able to navigate the finder and have a preview available at the same time. This is especially useful if you format the screen to have the preview on one side and the finder on the other OR even better -- multiple displays...

Well, I can officially say I've been using Leopard for about a day (minus, of course, the 5 hours of sleep I got). As much as I'd like to say I'm wowed -- I'm really not. Perhaps it's the critical coder in me that sees right through the eye candy; perhaps it's the Linux aficionado recognizing that although the environment is cool, it is hardly unique.
