Instant File Preview

Although I am a fan of coverflow, it is distracting: it takes up too much of my finder window and is only useful when documents are "previewable"(ie. PDF files, pictures, etc). Today I mistakingly discovered something very useful -- instant file preview (I'm making the name up, as I don't know what it is really called). What I really like, is that you are still able to navigate the finder and have a preview available at the same time. This is especially useful if you format the screen to have the preview on one side and the finder on the other OR even better -- multiple displays...

Depress space while on a file to get an instant preview.

[update: it's called quick look and (apparently) was available in the beta, so I'm not the first to report on it]

Do you know if there is any

Do you know if there is any way that you can use this option in stacks? That would make stacks a lot more useful!

I agree! I haven't been able

I agree! I haven't been able to find anything yet, but being a software developer, perhaps over the holidays I'll look into coding up a solution.

That would be awesome if you

That would be awesome if you could come up with something, I do like using stacks, but its seems like a deign flaw that the only option you have is to open the items in them. I'm new to mac, but I hear apple's updates are a pretty big deal in making macs work as well as they do. So, I'm guessing with do time they will come out with something in there updates,.. maybe??
